Anne-Marie has genuine care for her students and wants to make a meaningful difference in their lives. It brings Anne-Marie great happiness to engage with all of her students and to get to know them individually at the learning centre. Anne-Marie takes the time to listen carefully to parents and students to ensure they are reaching their goals together at Oxford Learning Burlington North. Helping thousands of students over the years, Anne-Marie feels so much joy creating the perfect learning environment that is safe and inclusive for everyone.
Anne-Marie holds an Honours Degree in Psychology and teacher education from Trent University. Anne-Marie is a seasoned educational entrepreneur and a certified academic and cognitive assessor. Her commitment to academic excellence and personalized teaching strategies have empowered her students to reach new heights. Anne-Marie believes in driving learners toward success and self-confidence at her centre. Her favourite thing to hear from her students is “I never thought I could do that!”.
Anne-Marie enjoys collaborating with community businesses and volunteering in local schools. In her spare time, Anne-Marie a mother, loves to spend time with family (especially at her trailer), read and travel as much as possible. Fun Fact: Anne-Marie loves step aerobics and does it as much as possible.

Meaghan has been the Centre Director and Co-Owner of Oxford Learning Burlington for over 10 years. Her connection to Oxford Learning runs deep, as she was a student there during high school, facing challenges in math. Her journey with Oxford Learning helped her gain confidence, improve her attitude, and achieve a substantial increase in her grades, which only propelled her to continue working toward bigger goals.
Meaghan holds a strong conviction in the effectiveness of the programs at Oxford Learning, having personally experienced their transformative impact. For her, there is no greater reward than witnessing the academic and personal success of the students her centre supports. While Meaghan doesn’t necessarily teach the students, she is certainly very active within the centre. She finds immense fulfillment in building meaningful relationships with all the students and believes it is essential to create an environment where each child or teen feels valued, important, and celebrated. She is passionate about building a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning environment and is committed to fostering a positive learning experience that balances academic rigour with engaging, enjoyable activities.
Meaghan holds a Bachelor of Commerce with an emphasis on Business Management and Leadership, complemented by extensive experience working with children across various age groups throughout her life. Driven by a desire to leverage her management expertise while contributing to the educational development of young minds, in 2014, she found her calling at Oxford Learning.
In her free time, Meaghan enjoys attending live music and sporting events, spending time outdoors, and engaging in crafting and DIY projects. She also finds immense joy in spending time with her nieces and nephews and cherishes quality moments with her family, friends, and pets.

Terri-Lynn, who usually goes by TL- is the superstar Education Director at Oxford Learning Burlington!
TL holds an Honours Bachelor Degree in Language & Linguistics, focusing on second language teaching (from York University’s Collège Glendon & l’Université Laval) and has extensive teaching experience overseas. She also holds a Master’s in Leadership (& Human Behaviour).
TL is also a word enthusiast and a published author. She is a lifelong learner who loves to share her love of learning –and contagious energy with her students.
TL is dedicated to helping students build self-confidence by creating a safe place where students can uncover their learning strengths, focus on positivity, and celebrate successes. She is dedicated to working with parents and students to make learning a customized and helpful experience where students can flourish and achieve their dreams!
In her spare time, TL is a yoga instructor, an avid reader, and a world traveller. She enjoys spending time with her family, including her two daughters and friends.

Daniela

Daniela teaches grades K-8 for reading, writing and math. She is a graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in Behavioural Psychology and a minor in Linguistics. Daniela strongly values the importance of clear communication and enjoys working with students to improve their articulation.
Daniela says she loves working at Oxford Learning because it caters to the unique needs of students and creates a welcoming environment, which helps students feel appreciated. Oxford Learning acknowledges the ‘small wins,’ which is one of Daniela's favourite parts. This means no matter how big or small the accomplishment is, she is always extremely proud of our students.
Beyond academics, Daniela values the importance of life skills such as time management and organization. Daniela says these are valuable traits that will help prepare individuals for success in life. Most importantly, Daniela loves working at Oxford Learning because she witnesses increased confidence among the students, which creates an increased drive to learn.
A fun fact is that Daniela was previously the Education Coordinator at Oxford Learning Burlington for the 2021/2022 school year! Beyond the classroom, Daniela enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking and taking long walks.

Brittany

Brittany began tutoring last year, but her experience working closely with children extends far beyond that. Brittany began her career in youth justice by working alongside teenagers, which gave her extensive experience in the youth mental health sector. Brittany worked directly with a wide range of children, developing her love and passion for education.
After having her second child, Brittany became very aware of children's educational needs and decided to make a career change. Working at Oxford Learning has provided Brittany with an opportunity to completely focus on assisting the students with their academic and cognitive needs. Brittany feels it is such a positive learning environment for students, and she loves that it is a student-driven program!
Brittany teaches students at Oxford Learning, from pre-K to Grade 6. She graduated from Sheridan College in the Social Service field. For the past year, she has felt extremely fulfilled by tutoring students at Oxford Learning. Brittany says watching the students learn and grow academically and seeing their confidence build over time has been incredibly rewarding!
Brittany is a mother of two: a 6-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter. She loves spending time outdoors with her family, especially her 10-year-old American Bulldog, Ryker! In her spare time, you'll find Brittany watching the latest reality show on Bravo or looking for the next delicious recipe to make!

Holly teaches students ranging from Pre-K to Grade 8. She is currently studying full-time at the University of Toronto, where she is in the process of obtaining a master's degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. Prior to her current studies, Holly also studied at McMaster University, where she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science degree. As someone who believes in continual learning, Holly especially enjoys expanding her skillset as much as possible and says she had learned a wealth of knowledge while teaching at Oxford Learning!
When Holly was young, she required additional academic support in math and science, and organizations like Oxford Learning hold a special place in her heart. It was through the additional after-school support that she received that she became more confident in her studies and achieved all of her academic goals! Holly says she truly believes in Oxford Learning's teaching methods and hopes to instill the same confidence in the students she teaches that she received all those years ago when she was a young learner.
When Holly is not studying for her classes or teaching at Oxford Learning, she loves travelling and being outdoors as much as possible. When the weather permits, Holly enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, and swimming. Holly also recently got a new puppy named Winnie, who keeps her and her family on their toes!

Ally

Ally teaches English, French, and CORE subjects at Oxford Learning. She completed her honours Undergraduate Degree in History with a minor in Christological Studies. In 2021/2022, she completed her Master’s in History at McMaster, with a specialization in British History. Ally's Master's Research Project examined a 19th-century Royal English divorce trial through a feminist lens.
Ally is now a post-graduate employee at McMaster University in addition to working at Oxford Learning! She has a passion for experiential learning and education development in university and high school age, with a focus in English and French. Ally's short-term goal is to work toward a PhD in History or Education. Ally says there are many reasons she loves working at Oxford Learning, but specifically, she enjoys the individualized approach to each student, the elation when a student finally understands a concept, and working on soft-skill habits for high school students! When working with older kids, Ally particularly loves exploring the nuances of reading and developing literary comprehension to open up the world of literature!
Outside of school and work, Ally enjoys reading fantasy books, skiing, and ballet.

Juliana mainly teaches high school math and science, though she also extremely versatile and works with various students in other grades and subjects. Juliana has just finished her Bachelor of Science degree at Brock University and will enter her second year of teacher's college at Brock in September of 2024.
Juliana says Oxford Learning has been a wonderful environment to meet new people, work through challenging homework problems, and learn how to adapt to new circumstances. in Juliana's words, "Each new day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and continue to practise skills that benefit every student and teacher who walks through our doors." She feels so excited to continue working with new and returning students! Juliana feels so fortunate to see learning happen in real-time, including the look of happiness on both a student's and a teacher's faces when a new skill has been mastered!
Juliana has always believed that education is one of the most important tools, and says she feels very proud to be a teacher working with Oxford Learning!
Outside of school and teaching at Oxford Learning, Juliana's favourite hobbies include watching Jeopardy!, trying new board games with friends, reading every book she can find, and spending time outdoors.

Josh a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University’s Health Sciences (B.Sc.) program with minors in chemistry and biology, and he is currently applying to Canadian and American medical colleges.
Josh began private tutoring three years ago and developed a passion for teaching. As a student who understands the unique challenges posed by math and science, Josh loves teaching students to be proud of themselves as they reach their goals, no matter how big or small. Josh enjoys working at Oxford Learning for its positive environment and student-focused teaching methods. Jenna's primary role at Oxford Learning is teaching high school math and science. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology at the University of Guelph. She continued her education in Guelph, earning a Master of Science degree. During this phase of education, she had the privilege of working as a teaching assistant, an experience that ignited her passion for teaching. She is in her first year of teacher's college at Brock University.
As a teacher, Jenna finds immense joy in witnessing the excitement and sense of accomplishment that students feel when they grasp new concepts. At Oxford Learning, Jenna appreciates the personalized approach, the thrill of witnessing student breakthroughs, and the emphasis on cultivating essential soft skills in her students. Jenna says the positive and enjoyable learning environment here enriches children's learning experiences, aligning with her own belief in Oxford Learning's effective teaching methods for building confidence and achieving academic goals.

Giselle mainly teaches students from JK to Grade 8 in English and French. She is currently in her second year of post-secondary education at the University of Toronto, pursuing a major in English and a minor in sociology. She plans to attend teachers' college and become a teacher!
Giselle began tutoring four years ago, but her passion for teaching developed much before that. Giselle says she has always known she wanted to become a teacher, and the time she spends at Oxford Learning only makes her more certain of that. She especially loves working at Oxford Learning because the environment is positive and open for all to learn. Giselle says the academic system at Oxford Learning is structured using many different teaching styles and student-led goals that inspire confidence, creativity, and growth in all aspects of learning. Giselle loves working together to develop and build plans for each student to maximize their learning and experience. She says her favourite part of teaching is watching her students celebrate their success. Giselle loves how rewarding it is to see their hard work pay off and to witness the joy and growth in all of their achievements.
In Giselles's spare time, she enjoys writing poetry, reading, and spending lots of time with her friends, family, and pets!

Mélanie

Mélanie teaches French, English and math at Oxford Learning. She recently graduated from Western University with a Master of Arts in French Literature. For her undergraduate degree, which she also did at Western, Mélanie double majored in French and Visual Arts. She also received her Certificate in Practical Italian. Interestingly, even though Mélanie graduated with the Arts and Humanities, she started out university as a math and science student! All that to say, Mélanie LOVES to learn and encourages students to be curious about all different subjects to help them become well-rounded and build their confidence.
Mélanie has many years of experience working with kids of all ages: from early childcare education to program director at a summer camp, all the way to teaching a first-year university French course. Now working at Oxford Learning, Mélanie says she can truly say she has found her home. Mélanie loves Oxford Learning’s individualized approach to teaching that caters to students’ specific needs. Mélanie feels at Oxford Learning, everyone can succeed!
Outside of Oxford Learning, Mélanie is also an artist: she crochets, paints, prints, makes, and designs tattoos! Some of her proudest achievements in art are having her piece featured in the National Undergraduate Printmaking Exhibition in 2021 and selling one of her paintings to Western University, where it is currently displayed in the University Community Centre. Mélanie hopes to one day own a small art shop or gallery!
