David
Education Coordinator
Read More
My name is David, and I am one of two Education Coordinators at Oxford Learning Leaside. I completed my undergrad at the University of Toronto with an Honours degree in English and Linguistics, specializing in communication disorders and language acquisition in children. I have always wanted to work in education, having been around educators for most of my life. Before this position, I was a tutor at the Leaside Centre, I've volunteered at daycares and worked alongside ECEs, I've been a camp counsellor in Algonquin Park, and worked for the TDSB.
My goal is to make sure that every student feels safe and excited to walk through our door and that they feel like they've learned something when they walk out of it. If we get to have a fun conversation about languages along the way, well, then that's just a bonus for me.

Hi there! My name is Aly and I am a one of the Education Coordinators here at Oxford Learning. I graduated in 2020 from Queen’s University with a Major in Global Development Studies and a Minor in French. In elementary and secondary school, I was fortunate enough to be in French Immersion. I had incredible teachers and mentors throughout my time in the public school system. Throughout my life, I have briefly lived overseas in both Bordeaux, France and Al Ain, UAE, where my mother taught for four years. During my time in the UAE, I volunteered three times a week in her classroom at the age of 15/16 and was fortunate enough to see firsthand how educators are such a key factor in young children’s lives.
With a long line of educators in my family, I was drawn to work in an environment that fosters young minds and our future generation. Working at Oxford Learning for the last year has been an incredible experience. I love the aspects of both management and teaching. Working with parents and students to ensure their children’s success is met is such an incredible part of my job, and I’m grateful to be a part of this wonderful team!

I am currently developing an independent video game, titled Espionage Activity, set to release later this year.

Brian
Math/Physics Teacher
Read More
Hi, my name is Brian Vaz. I've been fortunate enough to be able to tutor at Leaside Oxford Learning since early 2006, with a bit of a break during the COVID-19 period.
I mainly focus on Math and Physics, and I look forward to the opportunity to teach Computer Science whenever possible, as that was my undergraduate degree from York University. I am grateful to have had the opportunity throughout my career to apply my skills and learnings to solve real-life problems wherever I work.
I enjoy bringing my diverse work experience to my tuition sessions to enlighten the students on the application of what they learn whenever they ask, "When would I ever use that...?!"
I have met some wonderful people throughout my life who have been key to my growth and development, and I take advantage of every opportunity I get to "pay it forward".
I believe that we don't need to know the answers to every problem in the world, but we need to be resourceful and curious enough to pursue them.
My passions are electronic music, movies and cars (at least driving them), and I love spending time with my family now expanded to 4 beautiful dogs!
